Ecological Restoration

Overview

The Ecological Restoration Programme is in its nascent stage, and aims at identifying habitat types that are imperilled due to rapid transformation, and may be getting little attention at the moment. Our strategy is to intervene by:

  • Rehabilitating and restoring disturbed and degraded habitats to their functional ecological state.
  • Securing remnant intact habitats outside of protected areas.

Most recently, we have joined hands as Technical Advisors with the Abhinav Bindra Foundation in their objective of creating Olympic Forests in Odisha, India – the first of its kind in the country. This will be done together with the International Olympic Committee, IUCN and the Odisha government.

More about our individual projects coming soon. Watch this space.
