Brief Job Description:

    The Conservation Behaviour Science vertical of The Habitats Trust is working to conserve the large grasslands along the Konkan landscape. For this, we have constructed psychological scales and psychometric instruments to measure different constructs related to human-nature relationship and conservation in Konkan. Large-scale data collection for these instruments is currently underway.

    This is an on-field position that will require the candidate to stay in Ratnagiri and/or Sindhudurg districts of Konkan for most of the project duration, and travel to nearby villages to collect data on these scales. It will require the candidate to have good communication skills. This gives an opportunity for candidates to gain hands-on research experience in rural Konkan. It will also give an opportunity to be a part of the process of psychometric scale construction. Training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Collect on-field data for psychometric scales in Marathi while ensuring data-quality.
  • Assist with on-field coordination if needed.

Must have

  • Masters or a Bachelors degree in any discipline. A degree in any of the social sciences is preferable.
  • Willingness to travel and stay at field sites across Konkan. All field work-related expenses will be covered by the organisation. On-ground logistics will be taken care of by our partner organisation based in Chiplun. Some previous on-field experience is preferred.
  • Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking Marathi.
