Associate Manager - Communications - Films
Film Production, Management, Strategy & Distribution Specialist:
This role is crucial for developing and executing comprehensive strategies to promote and enhance the visibility of THT films. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for film, a deep understanding of the filmmaking process, and a proven track record of success in film-related communications, production, management, and distribution.
Key Responsibilities :
- •Develop and Execute Production & Distribution Strategies: Create and implement strategic plans for film projects, from pre-production through distribution, tailored to various target audiences (e.g., distributors, exhibitors, streaming platforms, international markets).
- •Film Festival & Market Strategy & Management: Identify and target key film festivals and film markets for submissions and participation. Coordinate film submissions, festival/market logistics, and promotional activities. Maximize film visibility and generate buzz.
- •Distribution & Sales: Develop and implement distribution strategies for film projects, including negotiating distribution deals, managing relationships with distributors, and exploring various distribution channels (theatrical, streaming, VOD, etc.).
- •Production Management: Oversee the logistical and administrative aspects of film production, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- •Strategy & Planning: Contribute to the overall strategic planning for film projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and market trends.
- •Public Relations & Media Relations: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with film critics, journalists, media outlets, and industry influencers. Write and distribute press releases, media kits, and other promotional materials. Coordinate and manage press screenings, interviews, and media events. Handle media inquiries and manage crisis communications, as needed.
- •Content Creation & Management: Develop compelling content, including written materials (press releases, articles, website copy, social media posts), visual assets (photos, videos), and other promotional materials. Oversee the creation of behind-the-scenes content, trailers, and other video assets. Manage and update website content related to film projects.
- •Social Media & Digital Marketing: Develop and manage social media strategies for film projects across various platforms. Create engaging social media content and campaigns to build audience engagement. Utilize digital marketing tools and techniques to promote films and track results.
- •Collaboration & Coordination: Work closely with filmmakers, producers, marketing teams, and other stakeholders to ensure consistent messaging and effective production and distribution. Manage external agencies and vendors, as needed. Coordinate with internal teams on branding, marketing, and distribution efforts.
- •Analysis & Reporting: Monitor and analyse the effectiveness of communication, production, and distribution strategies and campaigns. Prepare reports on media coverage, social media engagement, box office performance, and other key metrics. Provide recommendations for ongoing improvement.
Qualifications:
- •Bachelor's degree in Film Studies, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
- •7-8 years of relevant experience in film industry communications, public relations, or marketing.
- •Deep knowledge of film history, current film trends, and the filmmaking process.
- •Proven track record of successful film promotion and publicity campaigns.
- •Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills, with a strong ability to craft compelling narratives.
- •Strong relationships with film media and industry contacts.
- •Experience with film festival strategy and management.
- •Proficiency in social media platforms, digital marketing tools, and content management systems.
- •Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- •Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
- •Passion for film and a strong understanding of the film industry.
Preferred Qualifications:
- •Master's degree in a relevant field.
- •Experience working with international film markets and festivals.
- •Experience in crisis communications within the film industry.
