The Conservation Behaviour Science vertical of The Habitats Trust is working to conserve the large grasslands along the Konkan landscape. For this, we have constructed psychological scales and psychometric instruments to measure different constructs related to human-nature relationship and conservation in Konkan. The validation study is underway, after which large scale data collection will be done in the landscape.
This is an-on field position that will require the candidate to stay in Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts of Konkan for most of the project duration, and travel to nearby villages to collect data on these scales. It will require the candidate to have good communication skills. This gives an opportunity for social scientists to gain hands-on research experience in rural Konkan. It will also give an opportunity to be a part of the process of psychometric scale construction. Training will be provided.
Interested candidates may apply along with an up-to-date CV (including any relevant experience) and a brief statement of interest. Only the shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
